KAWC (Korea Association Welfare Center for the Disabled) is a superior organization which has total 116 member centers (as of Feb. 2005) in 16 different areas in the country. It supports welfare services of each welfare center and develops necessary policies for them. There are several head centers for each business area under the association and the association monitors and manages the whole process of their work.
Suppport Informationization
By minimizing the Information gaps between the non-disabled and the disabled and helping the disabled to develop the ability to utilize information, to increase job opportunities and to promote their active involvement with the rest of the society.
Support of Vocational Rehabilitation Encourage the disabled to overcome their disability and urge employers to create possible working environment and conditions for them, and help them to increase their vocational ability, and finally through those have them carry on financially and psychologically independent life.
Phone Counselling For the disabled or their family who are having trouble in accessing necessary information at a time of need, provide information about actions that they can take in an emergency or related information through the internet on a real time basis.
